Knitted in Wakayama on 1980’s loopwheel machines, the 5.5oz T-Shirt is made from 100% combed yarn cotton for a supremely soft and comfortable feel. This particular model has been pigment dyed, a traditional method of colouring fabrics that adheres the pigments to the surface of the fibres instead of dissolving them in water or solvents. As it uses less chemicals, this is a more eco-friendly dyeing technique, resulting in a gentle, vintage-like hue.

Sourced directly from nature, the pigment for this off-white colourway is derived from the reed beds of Lake Kojima in Okayama Prefecture. An important breeding ground for birds and fish, the dried stems of these plants need to be cut to promote regeneration, with the liquid extracted from these harvested reeds used to dye the fabric.
